The PowerStrop is a great tool for honing all kinds of edges. The leather wheel attaches to your power drill using the included mandrel. Charge the leather wheel with some of the included honing compound and hone your edge against the wheel. We’ve found the easiest way to use the PowerStrop is to mount your drill in our Switch-n-Lock Drill Mount attached to your bench or table. The PowerStrop is the fastest way that we’ve found to maintain the edge on Flexcut carving tools .

The primary PowerStrop wheel is 3″ in diameter and has a flat 3/4″ edge for most honing jobs – chisels, carving tools, pocket knives,etc. The second wheel has a 1/4″ wide V edge and is used for honing the inside of carving gouges. The PowerStrop kits includes two mandrels so you never need to re-mount the leather wheels. Be sure to keep your drill between 600 and 800 RPM.
