Sjöbergs calls this a File Clamp (actually a Filklämma). Others call it a Tool Vise.We call it a saw sharpening vise.It fits into the existing vise on your workbench and extends its reach above the bench by about 8 inches. To hold your hand saw, fit it between the jaws of the “file clamp” and tighten your bench vise. With your saw clamped in this vise, you can sharpen it easily. The saw is held firmly and it’s up off the workbench surface where it’s much easier to see.
